Help NCAF keep North Carolina Animal Shelters Moving Forward!

Now, more than ever, NCAF needs your support to ensure we can continue to support the caring animal welfare professionals whom our state's most vulnerable pets depend on. Their lives literally depend on the work of these caring professionals, in 2019 alone, North Carolina's shelters cared for over 241,000 dogs and cats (1) and the lifesaving rate rate in North Carolina continues to improve each year as the professionals working in these agencies improve their knowledge and expand their lifesaving networks. NCAF has been there every step of the way for our state's animal welfare professionals. Join with us in support for this lifesaving work on behalf of NC's pets. Your tax deductible contribution directly supports the lifesaving work that is being done for pets across our state.

Your donation is tax deductible! Our ID is 56-0768375

We are a nonprofit organization

NCAF is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization that works behind the scenes supporting the lifesaving work of animal welfare professionals all across NC through legislative advocacy, professional development, and creating a network of animal professionals through the state that support each other in ensuring positive outcomes for animals and their families in our communities. NCAF is comprised of animal welfare professionals and has been in existence since 2006.

Professional Development

Through our professional development program we help animal welfare professionals increase their knowledge and professionalism which in turn helps pets. Training and education on on best practices help animal welfare agencies provide services that help keep pets and their families together, help homeless pets find loving homes, protect animals from cruel treatment, and much more.

One of a kind

NCAF is the only professional organization in the state that supports all animal welfare professionals including both municipal and non-profit organizations that provide an array of animal welfare services in the state. This includes animals shelter, non-profit spay/neuter clinics, animal control agencies, pet adoption centers, and other NC based professional animal welfare groups working on behalf of animals.

Legislation

NCAF maintains a strong legislative advocacy program which advocates at the local and state levels on behalf of homeless pets, pets in our state's animal shelters as well as the animal welfare professionals who care for them. NCAF seeks to advance best practices for professional animal sheltering, animal control and support services in our state.
